NOTICE OF INTENT TO EMPLOY

LOCATION: Fruitport High School

POSITION: Graduation Intervention Advocate

Full Time

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate for grades 6 - 12
Math (EX) or Science (DA, DC, DH, DI, DP, DE, DX) certification preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of the standards related to the Michigan Merit Curriculum.
Ability to work effectively as a team member who consults and collaborates with other school personnel in gathering and giving information regarding students progress academically and behaviorally.
Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS).
Knowledge of and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool to enhance teaching and learning.
Willingness to assist students directly through individual or small group re-teaching sessions based on student need.
Willingness and ability to make home visits for gathering helpful information on a student’s background.
Ability to maintain records related to attendance, assessment scores, attendance for students on caseload.
Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, administrative guidelines and building regulations.
Willing to perform other duties as necessary and/or directed by the High School and Alternative Education Administration.
Attendance is an essential job function for this position.
