NOTICE OF INTENT TO EMPLOY

POSITION: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) (full time)

LOCATION: Eastern Service Unit

START DATE: Position to Begin with the 2025-2026 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
Full approval by the state of Michigan

REQUIREMENTS:

Competent using a variety of technology applications.
Comply with all Michigan Special Education law/requirements.
Provide occupational therapy services as directed by Occupational Therapist.
Collect, record, and report data relative to student performance on individual goals and objectives as directed by Occupational Therapist.
Work cooperatively with Occupational Therapist, teachers, administration, students, and parents in a positive and supportive way.
As directed by Occupational Therapist implement a variety of research-based intervention strategies, continually assessing student response to intervention
Establish communication systems between therapist and individual buildings, teachers, and parents.
Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or Director of Special Education.
