Job Title: Music Teacher (Virtual – Three Rivers Partnership)

Reports to: Partnership Coordinator

Summary:

Three Rivers Partnership is seeking a dynamic and energetic Virtual Music Teacher committed to fostering a student-centered, engaging online learning environment. The ideal candidate will set high academic expectations, communicate effectively with students and families, and collaborate regularly with program staff. This position requires strong organizational skills, timely communication, and dedication to student success in a virtual setting.

Education and Experience:

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Music (JQ or JX) endorsement
Experience in virtual instruction preferred
Familiarity with Canvas LMS and other online learning tools is highly desirable

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicate with students at least once per week and document each interaction (e.g., via Canvas).
Contact parents/guardians of failing students at least once every two weeks.
Respond to Two-Way Communications by the following deadlines:
- Monday: eligible for extra credit
- Tuesday evening: minimum response deadline (no extra credit)
Grade all submitted assignments weekly.
Respond to internal emails within 24 hours (acknowledgement with intent to follow up is acceptable).
Participate in and respond to all staff meetings as scheduled.
Perform any additional duties as assigned
Maintain a consistent and reliable on-site work schedule

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as educational curriculum guides, IEPs, and emails. Ability to write clear correspondence and effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and ability to assess grading data and student performance trends.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and adapt instruction to the virtual needs of individual learners.

- Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear and operate a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.

Work Environment: This position is remote. The employee must have reliable internet access and a suitable work environment conducive to virtual instruction. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly meets deadlines amidst a fast-paced environment with severe time constraints.

Additional Information:

Compensation and Benefits: $30.00/Hour; not eligible for full-time benefits
Schedule: 2.5 hours per week; schedule determined in coordination with district needs and building assignments.
