Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Varsity Wrestling Coach for the upcoming wrestling season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for the sport, a commitment to athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and competitive team environment. The coach will be responsible for leading the varsity wrestling program, guiding student-athletes in skill development, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs that enhance athletes' technical skills, physical conditioning, and mental preparation.
- Organize and conduct daily practice sessions, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
- Prepare the team for competitions, including scheduling matches, arranging transportation, and coordinating with opposing teams and officials.
- Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback to athletes to help them improve.
- Foster a culture of respect, discipline, and sportsmanship among team members.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team updates, expectations, and individual progress.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of athletes to the wrestling program.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote a cohesive athletic program at Charlotte High School.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic regulations and policies.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with the latest wrestling techniques and coaching strategies.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience in wrestling at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals, including students, parents, and school staff.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
- Must be available for afternoon and evening practices, as well as weekend competitions.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to transport athletes to events as needed.
- A commitment to the academic success and personal development of student-athletes.
- Background check clearance as required by the school district.
