Charlotte Public Schools is seeking a full-time Middle School Math Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in mathematics. 
 

POSITION:                          Mathematics Teacher, Full Time
LOCATION:                         Charlotte Middle School (Grades 7th & 8th)
 
POSITION SUMMARY:      Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school. Uses research based best practices to ensure all students learn.  Specific focus on mathematics instruction at the secondary level. 
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain an instructional environment which will be supportive of positive behavior change and academic achievement for the students.
  • Develop and implement education plans, performance objectives, and daily instructional plans for students.
  • Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. 
  • Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Teaches district approved curriculum.
  • Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate in area of assignment. 
  • Able to meet state and federal guidelines to be considered “Highly Qualified”.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of state and federal mandates which directly affect the program and teaching situation.
  • Ability to develop and carry out individual educational plans (academic and behavioral) for students
