The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.

We are currently seeking an Instructional Technologist at the Career Connect Campus in Portage, Michigan. The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Align services with KRESA Core Values (Collaboration, Innovation, Compassion, Respect, and Integrity) and Culture & Belonging principles to engage and serve all students
Provide individualized, classroom-based support to CTE instructors, including co-planning, co-teaching, and modeling the effective use of educational technology to enhance instruction and student engagement.
Design, facilitate, and evaluate professional development sessions focused on educational technology, digital literacy, Canvas LMS usage, and the integration of Skills for Success competencies into classroom practice.
Serve as the Canvas LMS administrator: manage course and user setup, troubleshoot issues, support integrations with third-party tools including PowerSchool, generate reports, and ensure the system aligns with instructional and administrative needs.
Collaborate with administrators, mentor teachers, and CTE staff to align technology initiatives with program goals including credential attainment, within a competency-based framework, supporting continuous improvement and the integration of academic, technical, and employability skills.
Analyze data from digital platforms, student achievement, and formative assessments to inform instructional technology decisions and recommend targeted improvements.
Support instructors in developing and implementing cross-curricular, technology-enhanced projects that connect students to diverse career pathways, industry-recognized credentials, and real-world applications.
Serve as a non-evaluative resource for technology adoption and integration, offering guidance on digital curriculum development, assessment design, and instructional planning within a competency-based framework.
Stay current with emerging trends and research in educational technology, CTE, and digital learning, sharing relevant information and best practices with instructional staff.
Coordinate with CTE staff and stakeholders to support technology-related initiatives, curriculum integration, and student recruitment efforts.
Participate in the selection of digital instructional materials and monitor technology integration and adoption processes to ensure alignment with program outcomes and continuous improvement.
Facilitate the Skills for Success course with instructional staff across Career Connect secondary programs- online course designed to foster positive learner behaviors and equip students with essential skills to achieve greater academic and career outcomes.
Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Kalamazoo RESA handbook.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a BS/BA degree in Education, with a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology preferred. A minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience is required, including demonstrated success in technology integration. The candidate should have experience facilitating high-quality professional development with a focus on technology training and integrating technology into teaching and learning. An in-depth understanding of Michigan Integrated Technology Competencies for Students and ISTE Standards for Teachers is required. Experience in coaching teachers concerning instructional technology/STEM skills is necessary. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to continually learn recent technologies and instructional practices. Experience creating online learning opportunities within a learning management system such as Google Classroom and Canvas is also required. The candidate must also possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate.

Experience facilitating technology-related professional learning communities and/or formal instructional technology coaching preferred.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support diverse learners and staff in a dynamic, technology-rich environment

Regular and consistent attendance.

This is a 11 month calendar position in job grade 17 with an annual rate of pay between $53,588.00 and $113,115.00.
