The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.

We are currently seeking a Instructional Coach at the Career Connect Campus in Portage, Michigan. The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Model and promote inclusive, culturally responsive instructional practices that embody KRESA’s core values of Collaboration, Innovation, Compassion, Integrity, and Respect, while fostering equitable opportunities and support for all students.
Provide individualized, classroom-based coaching and support to CTE instructors, including observation, feedback, co-teaching, and modeling of effective, research-based instructional strategies.
Design, facilitate, and evaluate professional development sessions and collaborative learning communities focused on instructional innovation, competency-based grading, formative assessment, and Skills for Success integration.
Collaborate with administrators, mentor teachers, and CTE staff to align efforts with program goals, drive continuous improvement, and integrate academic and technical competencies alongside essential skills for success.
Analyze student achievement and industry certification data, as well as formative assessment results, to inform instructional decisions and recommend targeted improvement strategies.
Support teachers in developing and implementing cross-curricular projects and interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect students to diverse career pathways.
Serve as a non-evaluative resource, offering guidance on professional growth, curriculum development, assessment design, and instructional planning.
Stay current with emerging trends and research in CTE, sharing relevant information and best practices with instructional staff.
Coordinate with CTE staff and stakeholders to support countywide CTE initiatives, curriculum integration, and student recruitment efforts.
Participate in the selection of instructional materials and monitor instructional processes to ensure alignment with desired program outcomes and continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3–5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. A master’s degree in curriculum, instruction, or a related area is preferred.

Required skills and abilities include:

Demonstrated expertise in research-based instructional practices
Experience providing professional development and coaching to teachers
Proficiency in curriculum and assessment design
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Certificates, License, Registration:
Valid Michigan teaching certification with a successful record of classroom teaching experience, preferably 3–5 years or more.

This is a 11 month calendar position in job grade 17 with an annual rate of pay between $53,588.00 and $113,115.00.
