REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
Special Education Teaching Certificate - Cognitive Impairment Endorsement or ASD Endorsement (preferred)
Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher requirements
Ability to develop and carry out individual education plans, behavior intervention plans, and progress monitor student growth
Experience managing and working in any special education classroom

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:`

Master’s Degree
Dual Special Education Endorsements
Modify and adapt general education curriculum to meet the varied needs of students with disabilities
Develop differentiated lesson plans designed to address specific individualized IEP goals
Maintain attendance records and other data, records, and reports required by the program supervisor
Adhere to all policies and procedures of Haslett Public Schools
Establish and maintain constructive professional relationships with building staff
Maintain, store, utilize, and protect records
Conduct IEPC and other general caseload management duties
Participate in team meetings
Perform all job-related duties assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Student Services
