POSITION: Lead Teacher - Half Day Classroom, Little Hornet Preschool

REPORTS TO: Director of Preschool and Child Care

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or Elementary Education certified/Early Childhood endorsement or willingness to pursue certification preferred
Knowledge of or willingness to learn the following:
- Connect 4 Learning (C4L) Curriculum
- Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) Assessment Program
- Teachers Learning Together (TLT) concept of professional development
- Social, Emotional and Behavioral (SEB) Supports
- Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Evidence-based literacy and math practices
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and public relation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals with a desire to improve educational practices
Successfully pass a background check

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, create, administer, and oversee all aspects positive preschool classroom environment with assistant teachers
Work collaboratively with a teaching team of assistant teachers and professionals across the program and district
Provide a supportive and nurturing environment that focuses on the safety and health of children and encourages their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
Communicate various aspects of the program to parents/guardians through email, newsletters, and other media
Comply with State of Michigan regulations for a licensed center
Maintain yearly professional development as outlined by Childcare licensing

HOURS: ~ 25 hours/week Specific schedule to be determined by director Days determined by 24-25 Little Hornet Preschool calendar

SALARY: $22.00-25.50/hour, Based upon education and experience Per Little Hornet Teacher Contract

STARTING DATE: Start of the 24-25 school year
