Position Title: Maintenance 2 / Groundskeeper

Location: Mason School District / Mason Public Schools / In-Person

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
One or more years of equivalent or related experience (3 or more preferred)
Current driver's license and good driving record
Pesticide certification – or ability to obtain in first 90 days.
Must be able to work flexible hours
Ability to manage multiple tasks driven by athletic schedules
Ability to work from heights
Must be capable of performing strenuous activity

Responsibilities:

Repair and maintain outdoor areas of the school district, including lawns, athletic fields, plantings, irrigation systems, street and parking lot signs, playgrounds and pavement
Plowing and salting in the winter
Perform maintenance and minor repairs of grounds equipment
Assist with indoor athletics area maintenance
Attend Mason football home games and respond to facility needs during the game
Provide custodial services after games/athletic events during normal work hours
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking
The position requires lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day
Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, including travel to other schools
Exposure to varying weather conditions
Exposure to fumes, bodily fluids, and toxic substances; the district provides appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Work Year: Year-round

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 3:00 pm

Hourly Rate: $24.25
