About The Role | |||
Under the direction of the Principal, Emotionally Impaired Programs and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Teacher, Emotionally Impaired, plans, implements and evaluates the assigned educational components for emotionally impaired students. · Establish and maintain an instructional milieu which will be supportive of positive behavior change and academic achievement for the students. · Develop individualized education plans, performance objectives, and daily instructional plans for students. · Implement individualized education plans for students. | |||
About You | |||
· Valid Michigan teaching certificate with special education endorsement in the area of Emotionally Impaired. Able to teach high school content courses and meet “Highly Qualified” standards in Social Studies and one or more additional content areas. · Knowledge and skill in commonly used approaches to educating emotionally impaired students, particularly at the secondary age level. Math experience through secondary level is desirable. · Able to meet state and federal guidelines to be considered “Highly Qualified”. | |||
