About The Role

Under the supervision of the administrator and in accordance with the established practices and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Play and Learn Group Facilitator shall provide services to families and children ages birth to kindergarten entry. Children must participate with their families as part of the playgroup sessions. The Play and Learn Group Facilitator will provide parent-child playgroups across the intermediate school district, focusing on Refugee Populations. Services will be provided in a group setting but will focus on family-centered service, developmentally appropriate practice and individual needs. Additionally, the Play and Learn Group Specialist may provide developmental screening, family assessment, and collaborative consultation with staff, parents¸ agency personnel, and administrators.

  • Facilitates weekly family-child playgroup sessions within Ingham Intermediate School District. The number of playgroups will vary with enrollment, need and capacity. This includes planning, set up, clean up, travel, transportation of needed equipment and supplies, documentation, data collection and reporting.

About You

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in child development and/or early intervention.
  • Knowledge and expertise of infant and toddler development, learning, family-centered service, and cultural diversity.
  • Training, certifications and/or experience to provide service coordination, developmental screening, diagnostic and direct services to children aged birth to 3 eligible for Early On focusing on family-centered service, procedural safeguards, transitions, natural environments, and developmentally appropriate practices and activities.
