Summer Grounds Helper – Part Time

POSITION: Summer Grounds Helper - Part Time

GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible, under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Operations, to ensure that the buildings, facilities, and grounds are maintained in the best condition possible with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.  24-32 hours a week.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High School diploma or equivalent or enrolled in school.
• Previous grounds experience; operation zero turn mower and weed whip.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting.
• Exhibit positive attitude and pride in the work assignment.
• Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions and develop a working knowledge of appropriate landscaping methods, materials and equipment.
• Ability to work outside in summer conditions.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to get along with students, other employees, and community members.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Cleaning and maintenance of grounds.
• Maintain grounds equipment.
• Lifting (i.e., desks, paper/book supplies, deliveries).
• Establish and maintain a team atmosphere with maintenance staff.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and students.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Operations.

SALARY: $12.75 per hour
