Position Overview:

Bellevue Community Schools is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Varsity Baseball Head Coach to lead and develop our baseball program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mentoring student-athletes, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the game. This role includes overseeing practices, developing game strategies, and fostering sportsmanship and teamwork both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities

Hold structured practices appropriate for skill level of players
Develop and implement strategy for competition situations
Follow policies and procedures set forth by school district and Athletic Director
Supervise student-athletes from the time the first participant reports until the last player leaves after an event or practice
Actively participate with the Athletic Boosters
Maintain current inventory of equipment
Plan and conduct practices, workouts, and conditioning sessions
Develop game strategies and analyze team performance
Supervise assistant coaches and support staff
Promote a culture of discipline, hard work, and respect
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all athletes
Manage equipment, uniforms, and team logistics
Foster academic and personal development in players
Represent the team in a positive manner within the school and community

Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience
Proven ability to work cooperatively with student-athletes
Proven ability to act in a professional manner in adverse situations
Willingness and desire to be involved in all aspects of building a successful program
Willingness to work/cooperate with coaching staff
Previous coaching experience (head or assistant) in baseball at the high school level preferred
Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, and safety protocols
Excellent communication and leadership skills
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Background check clearance
Experience with team-building and player development
Understanding of strength and conditioning programs

Compensation:

Based on Schedule B of the teachers contract
