Elementary summer school paraprofessional supports teachers and students by providing aid to students and contributing to the overall success of the summer school program.

Required Professional Preparation and Experience: 

• One of the following: 
• • Have at least 60 credits at an accredited institution of higher education
  • Have an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Passage of College Board’s SAT (min. 480 Reading & 530 Math)
  • Passage of the ETS Parapro Assessment (required 460)
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to collaborate with others
• Strong sense of empathy
• Drive to help students succeed.                                                             

Major Responsibilities: 

• Under the direction of a teacher, provide support with academic assignments, giving clarifications, reviewing material, and reinforcing concepts to ensure the student grasps the content.
• Assist with managing the student's behavior and promoting positive social skills by implementing behavior plans, modeling appropriate behavior, and providing guidance and redirection as needed.
• Establish a positive and supportive relationship with students.
