K-6 elementary teacher works to form positive relationships with students and parents to support student growth. They analyze data in order to create developmentally appropriate lessons that are differentiated. Through the use of PBIS and high expectations they manage a safe and comfortable learning space where all feel welcome. 

Required Professional Preparation and Experience:

  • Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Possess a valid Michigan teacher certificate 
  • Consent to/pass a background check
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to collaborate with others
  • Strong sense of empathy
  • Drive to help students succeed.                                                     

 Preferred Professional Preparation and Experience:

  • K-8 All Subjects certificate
  • 1-3 years of experience

Major Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of assigned students through formal and informal assessments
  • Plan, deliver, and assess learner instruction
  • Maintain a flexible and adaptable attitude while working in the classroom and with other staff
  • Maintain knowledge of the academic, social and emotional needs of learners
  • Use research-based instructional strategies that address the full range of cognitive levels
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness in adjusting instruction to meet student needs
  • Engage students in varied experiences that meet diverse needs and promote social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Maintain regular communication with parents utilizing email, phone calls, and conferences
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with school district regulations and legal requirements
  • Demonstrate consistent, effective management of student behavior.  
  • Possesses the skill and willingness to ensure that students’ social and emotional needs are addressed. 
  • Knowledgeable of research that supports age appropriate instruction and practices. 
  • A strong belief that building individual relationships is paramount to learning
  • Believes relentlessly that all children have the capacity to be successful learners. 
  • Participate in all meetings as required by the school, district, or laws, to address student needs. 
  • Participating as an educational team member for the success of all students.
