Work Schedule: 261 days, Monday-Friday, 6:30 am-3:30 pm EST (Flexible)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of all facilities across two campuses and multiple outbuildings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and minor improvements to school buildings, classrooms, athletic facilities, and other structures to ensure a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Maintenance: Perform routine building maintenance tasks such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Facility Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of campus buildings and outbuildings to identify any maintenance issues, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and local regulations.
  • Repairs and Upgrades: Address maintenance issues promptly, including minor repairs and upgrades to equipment, furniture, and structures.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Assist with the upkeep of outdoor spaces, including minor landscaping, snow removal, and maintenance of parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, particularly those related to safety concerns.
  • Work Orders: Track and complete work orders and maintenance requests from staff, students, and administration.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure that maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and ready for use.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement and manage a preventive maintenance schedule for all school facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols, and ensuring facilities are safe for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff, school administrators, and outside contractors when needed for larger projects or specialized repairs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical training preferred.
  • Prefer at least 2 years of general maintenance experience, ideally in a school or commercial setting.
  • Knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs.
  • Computer knowledge necessary to operate building management software.
  • Ability to operate tractors, skid steer,  etc.
  • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with staff, students, and parents.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform manual labor and be on your feet for long periods.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions (e.g., outdoor tasks, snow removal).

  • This position may require occasional evening or weekend work for special projects or emergencies.
