Paraprofessional Sub

Location: Lakeshore Public Schools, Stevensville, MI 49127

A Sub Paraprofessional will have the opportunity to accept jobs from each Lakeshore building, working the days or half days that fit their schedule.

Qualifications:

Associates Degree or equivalent preferred
High School graduate or equivalent
Advanced training in a field related to child care and/or a minimum of two years of experience as an aide or equivalent experience preferred
Competent in the following areas: communication skills, organization, and in establishing excellent interpersonal relationships with staff and students

Possible Duties:

Working in multiple classrooms (per building) to assist students and teachers
Effectively participate in building activities
Assist in the implementation of instructional support and training activities with students under the direction of the teacher
Be responsible for the supervision & direction of students including lunch and recess time
Help maintain instructional area, supplies, equipment & facilities in a clean/safe condition Includes cleaning/disinfecting the classroom environment
Assist teachers and support staff in preparing materials, housekeeping, recordkeeping & data collection relative to student progress
Provide instruction and training on an individual student basis, in a small group or one-to-one tutorial instruction
Participate in special instructional activities to meet program and student goals (e.g. loading/unloading buses, physical education, etc.)
Willing to assist with medical procedures. Understand and be aware of medical needs of students
Follow established policies/procedures (e.g. medical concerns, safety, student rights, emergency/disaster plan, etc.)
Maintain confidentiality
Regular and predictable attendance
All other duties as assigned
