Summary:
The Junior High Math Teacher will be responsible for teaching math to students in grades 6-8 at Coloma Junior High School. This is a full-time position that requires a passion for teaching and a dedication to helping students succeed in math.
Responsibilities:
- Teach math to students in grades 6-8
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
- Collaborate with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in math education
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress
- Create a positive classroom environment that promotes learning and encourages student engagement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university
- Valid teaching certificate endorsement BX, BA or BQ and secondary area of certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of math concepts and the ability to explain them in a clear and engaging manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with students in a classroom or tutoring setting
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
- Dedication to helping students succeed in math and achieve their full potential.
