Qualifications:

High school graduate, some college preferred.
Knowledge of computers, filing and office equipment.
Must be able to meet and interact with employees and parents/guardians in routine situations, which require tact, discretion, and courtesy.
Ability to select appropriate channels for resolving concerns/problems.
Maintain communication and working relationship with special education personnel in the county.
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations related to documentation and reporting.
Requires conscientious attention to detail and commitment to accuracy for local, state, and federal reporting.
Ability to set priorities, work well under pressure and work without direction.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports to: Director of Special Education

Job Goal: To assist with efficient compliance to the state-mandated special education procedures in the district.

Schedule and Process Student’s Special Education Meetings:

Track deadlines for due dates for required student data and district compliance
Coordinate and schedule meetings and invite the appropriate attendees
Open appropriate meeting type documents in the special education software: create parent/student invitations and reminders
Prepare and maintain student records (including, but not limited to, invitations, reminders , reports, and student folders)
Process paperwork from completed meetings: Copies provided to parents/guardians, CA-60 files, and resident districts as needed
Process documents for digital consent/signature
Update data in the SIS system as necessary
Track, organize, and maintain extensive confidential files on all special education students in the district

State Reporting: Fall/Spring Count Days and End of the Year Collection

Ensure that all data for each special education student is accurate (including on/off campus students)

Transportation Information: Assists with coordination of student transportation needs related to specialized transportation

Maintain transportation information document
Communicate as needed with transportation departments in the county

Personnel Information: Assist with maintaining personnel reports

Random Moment staff pool data base: Quarterly maintenance and report
Reimbursable aide report to local RESA: Updated as changes are made
Monthly RESA personnel report: Verify each month that personnel data is correct

Finance: Perform essential duties related to budgeting, purchase orders, and invoicing

Process purchase orders, establish vendors, and maintain records associated with budgets
Knowledge and proficiency with Skyward preferred

Pay rate: $17.02 - $21.00 based on experience

Length of Contract: School year schedule, August 11, 2025 - June 19, 2026 with an additional 40 hours over the summer

Location: Sylvester Elementary
