As the Coordinator for all Student Services on and off campus, you will support our leadership teams and build a structure of collaborative relationships in the school and community so that all students have a variety of opportunities to succeed and be productive members of the community. Competencies for Our Student Services Coordinator

Communication and Collaboration – Effective communication and collaboration are essential for this role. The individual must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with families, staff, and external agencies. Clear written and verbal communication is crucial for accurate documentation, reporting, and presentations. Active listening and conflict resolution skills are necessary to address sensitive issues such as attendance concerns or Title IX complaints. Additionally, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors, administrators, and community partners, is vital to ensure student needs are met effectively.
Legal and Policy Knowledge – A comprehensive understanding of Title IX, the McKinney-Vento Act, 504 plans, and attendance laws is critical to fulfilling this role's responsibilities. The individual must ensure compliance with these legal frameworks and district policies. This includes developing, implementing, and delivering training programs that equip staff with the knowledge and skills needed to adhere to these requirements.
Case Management and Support – Effective case management skills are essential for managing multiple cases, referrals, and legal processes. The individual must demonstrate strong organizational skills to ensure timely follow-up and accurate record-keeping. Additionally, they must handle confidential information with discretion while assessing student and family needs, developing service plans, and connecting them with appropriate resources and support services.
Training and Facilitation – This role requires the ability to design, develop, and deliver staff training programs on Title IX, 504 plans, and PBIS. Strong presentation skills are necessary to ensure that staff understand compliance expectations, intervention strategies, and support processes. The individual must also guide staff in consistently applying district procedures and policies.
Behavioral Intervention and Support – A strong knowledge of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework is vital. The individual must be skilled in collecting and analyzing PBIS data to evaluate intervention effectiveness and make informed, data-driven decisions. Additionally, they should provide ongoing coaching and support to staff, ensuring PBIS strategies are applied with fidelity and consistency across the district.
Data management and Analysis – The ability to track, analyze, and report attendance, PBIS outcomes, and compliance data is crucial. The individual must prepare detailed reports for district leadership and external agencies, ensuring the data accurately reflects progress, challenges, and recommended improvements.
Problem Solving and Decision Making –Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills are necessary to assess student needs and develop effective intervention strategies. The individual must demonstrate sound judgment when addressing attendance issues, legal concerns, and student support processes.
Empathy and Cultural Awareness – Empathy and cultural awareness are key competencies for connecting with diverse families and ensuring equitable support for students. The individual must demonstrate sensitivity to various cultural backgrounds and build trust with students and families during home visits and in sensitive conversations.

What We’ll Love About You

You have 5+ years of educational and classroom experience. In addition to a Master’s Degree or higher, it is preferred that you have a Michigan Administrative Certificate or equivalent certification. You have had the opportunity to work with diverse departments and leaders to attain quality educational environments for students. You are a data-oriented person that loves to prototype or refine programs, always seeking efficiency and effectiveness. Budgets are no big deal and you have experience developing financial plans and responsibly towards district goals. You connect and build relationships in an authentic and personalized way with all stakeholders to come to the best solution; not necessarily yours. You are creative and strategic in your approach to planning, the budget, and relative data in perspective. You are excited to collaborate with the team, as well as others to create a rich environment and meaningful experience for all students.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 based on experience

Length of Contract: 220 days
