Watervliet High School is seeking a short-term substitute teacher to fill a Woodworking position for the remainder of the 2024–2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience and proficiency in woodworking, with the ability to operate and supervise the use of woodworking machinery in a classroom setting.
Job Description

Responsibilities include:

Delivering instruction in basic to intermediate woodworking techniques
Supervising students in a safe, productive shop environment
Maintaining equipment and ensuring adherence to all safety protocols
Supporting students in completing woodworking projects
Collaborating with school staff to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of instruction

Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in woodworking
Ability to safely operate and oversee the use of woodworking machinery and tools
Previous teaching or instructional experience preferred but not required
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
Must meet the substitute teaching requirements as set by the district or state
