Description: The position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function and exercise; that motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Standard or Professional Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for the certificate and/or permit). AD will be required to teach a reduced PE schedule.
- At least five years of demonstrated successful athletic experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with student-athletes, coaches, referees, parents, and others in the school’s athletic community
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with administration, teachers, staff, students, and community
- Must meet continuing education requirements as prescribed by rules promulgated by the State of Michigan and/or MHSAA, as applicable
- Must pass state and federal criminal background check
